Square matrix

Definition

A square matrix is a matrix where the number of rows equals the number of columns. Explicitly, a $m\times n$ matrix is termed a square matrix if $m=n$.

A $n\times n$ square matrix is also called a square matrix of order $n$ or a square matrix of degree $n$.
